Jimmie Darvin Vaughn

Mr. Jimmie Darvin Vaughn, 82, of Tifton passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Norris and Mr. Jim Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Dylan Humphries, Taylor Hunt, Cole McKay, Charlie Hunt, Cameron Humphries, Russell Shaw and Andy Green will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Vaughn was born June 7, 1939 in Glenn County to the late Jessie “Jake” Vaughn and Wilma smith Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Tifton and was retired from UPS as a long-haul truck driver. He had lived in Tift County for most of his life. On March 31, 1979 he married the love of his life and began his family of five daughters and eight grandchildren. He was a hard worker and excellent provider who loved his family with all of his heart. Mr. Jimmie was an outdoorsman who loved to deer hunt and fish. He was a man of strong faith and active in his church. Mr. Vaughn proudly served his country in the U.S. Reserves.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by his wife, Linda Ross Vaughn of Tifton to whom he was married for forty-two years; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lesia and Steve Jackson of Savannah, Tina and Jeff Hunt of Kernersville, NC., Jill and Sonny McKay of Mt. Pleasant, SC., Lynn and Jack Priest of Ringgold and Misty and Todd Sargent of Tifton; his grandchildren, Heather Williams, Taylor and Giovanna Hunt, Kelli and Jared Pike, Charlie Hunt, Laurel and Terrel Stauffer, Cole McKay, Dylan Humphries and Savannah Humphries; three great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Ellen and Michael Alsobrook and Harriett Cooper all of Tifton. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
