Jimmie Lou (Youngblood) Marchant

Mrs. Jimmie Lou Youngblood Marchant, 90, of Tifton passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Tifton Health and Rehabilitation.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Cory Hand officiating.  The family will receive friends after the service.

Mrs. Marchant was born on July 17, 1931, to the late John Youngblood and Johnnie Waters Youngblood.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oren Clayton Marchant who died September 21, 2005, her son Junior Marchant, along with two brothers, and two sisters.

Mrs. Marchant loved making crafts so she volunteered at the nursing home each week up until the nursing had to restrict visitors due to Covid.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook, sew and fish. She was a long-time member of Zion Hope Baptist Church since 1949 where her husband had been a deacon before his death.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Marchant Calhoun of Cordele, and her grandson Josh Calhoun and his wife Kimberly of Rochelle.
