Jessie R. McLeod

Jessie Ray McLeod, 79, of Tifton died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Elmer Golden and Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 29 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Blane Corbett, Julius Brown, Chris Justice, Kyle Justice, Kenny Barfield and Buddy Brogdon will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. McLeod was born on April 29, 1937 in Jasper, Florida to the late Willie McLeod and Beatrice Culpepper McLeod. He graduated from Echols County High School and attended Omega Church of God. Mr. McLeod retired from United Parcel Service after many years of service as a supervisor. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Brenda Brunty McLeod and by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jann and Tony Bennett of Loganville and Lisa Renee and Jason Lanier of Waycross; one son Joel Ray and Monica McLeod of Woodstock; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Rev. Jack Justice of Lake Park; one brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Harold and Tina McLeod of Tifton and five grandchildren, Logan Williams, Ty Bennett, Zac Bennett, Harrison McLeod and Abraham McLeod.

Mr. McLeod was preceded in death by his two sisters, Joyce Phillips and Mae Brogdon.
