Mr. Jerry Andrew Yawn, 70, of Ocilla passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Miss Crystal Courdle officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Sean Brown, Dana Roberts, Michaela Harrell, Gabe Yawn, Samantha Thomas, Jose Mejia, Tyler Heath, Dakota Roberts, Laceylynn Harrell, Nicholas Harrell and Chris Overstreet will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Yawn was born January 4, 1951 in Tifton to the late Jesse Tilman Yawn and Sara Virginia King Yawn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shianne Roberts. Mr. Yawn was a veteran of the United States Army and was a truck driver for Dixon Farms. He had lived in Irwin County most of his life. Jerry was an avid horse lover, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed watching drag racing on Television. Jerry was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family.
Mr. Yawn is survived by his wife, Cinderella Suggs Yawn of Ocilla and to whom he was married for forty-five years; three daughters, Charol Loper of Ocilla, Wanda Yawn of Macon and Debra Yawn of Ocilla; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry “Bubba” and Delane Yawn of Alapaha; great grandchild considered as a son, Jordan Walls; his grandchildren, Michael Harrell, Michaela Harrell, Dakota Roberts, Dana Roberts, Nicholas Harrell, Laceylynn Harrell, Samantha Thomas, Cameron “Sean” Brown, Gaberial Yawn, Zachary Baldree, Tyler Heath and Adam Heath; his sister, Vera Yawn of Fitzgerald and two brothers and sister-in-law, Jesse and Linda Yawn of Tifton and Raymond Yawn of Sylvester. He is also survived by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
