Jerry Eugene Wiggins, 89, a devoted family man, passed away on May 17, 2024 at Legacy Assisted Living Center in Tifton, Georgia. He was born on November 15, 1934, in Meriwether County, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Danny Wiggins and Rev. Corey Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors rendered. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Albritton Funeral Directors from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
His grandsons, Aubry Haire, Allen Haire, Zach Wiggins, Landon Haire, Robert Mock, Bradley Tucker, and Bryan Tucker will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Jerry's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his work as a farmer and his love for playing golf. He found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them and his family. A proud graduate of Irwin County High School, Jerry went on to serve his country with honor. Having served for twelve years in the United States Air Force and eight years in the Army where he also dedicated time to the local National Guard Service, exemplified true patriotism and loyalty to his nation.
One of Jerry's proudest accomplishments was being a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon, embodying his strong faith and commitment to his community. He will be remembered for his kindness, work ethic, and unwavering love for his family and church.
Jerry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Myrna Jean Childs Wiggins, who shared sixty-six beautiful years of marriage until her passing on November 16, 2023. He is also reunited with his father, Joe L. Wiggins, mother Alice Davis Wiggins, grandson Joshua Wiggins, his two sisters, Zelma Wilbanks, and Polly Tuttle, and four brothers, J.B. Wiggins, Elmer Wiggins, Bobby Wiggins, and Allen Wiggins
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion survived by his daughters Pam Haire (Danny) of Waterloo; Holly Tucker (Ira) of Lands Crossing; son Danny Wiggins (Beth) of Enterprise, AL; grandchildren Aubry & Lee Haire, Allen & Kayla Haire, Bradley & Brooke Tucker, Bryan & Addie Tucker, Zach Wiggins, Jessie and Robert Mock; great-grandchildren Abbie Haire, Landon Haire, Anniston Haire, Charlee Haree, Ava Haire, Zayden Tucker, Willa Tucker , Lindy Tucker , Taylor Tucker , Cade Tucker , Bowen Tucker , and Liam Mock, along with his sister, Wilma Townsend
