Jeanne Marie Masse Creel

Jeanne Marie Masse Creel, was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, on October 18, 1942 to her parents, the late George Henry Masse and Anita Gervais Masse. She walked this earth with grace, leading a life filled with compassion, creativity, and faith. Mrs. Jeanne passed away on December 31, 2024, at Maple Court Assisted Living in Tifton, Georgia at the age of 82.

Her funeral mass will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. in Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church with Father Peter Oyenugba officiating. The interment will be held at Tift Memorial Gardens, where the family will receive friends following the graveside service.

As a homemaker, licensed practical nurse and breast cancer survivor, Jeanne dedicated her life to the care and well-being of her family and others. She had a profound spirituality, with deep roots in her church community at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church. For many years, she served as the Elector, guiding her congregation with a steady hand and a heart open to all.

Jeanne’s creative spirit was boundless; she found joy in quilting, sewing, arts and crafts, and the intricate art of stained glass making. With deft hands and an artistic eye, she contributed to the beauty of her church, helping to create stained glass windows that now faithfully cast colorful light within its sacred walls. Her creations were a testament to her belief in uplifting the spaces around her, leaving a legacy of artistry and devotion for those who would follow.

She is survived by her beloved family, including her sons James Creel and his wife Laurie and Joseph Creel, along with his wife Valeria, her daughter, Jocelyn Clements and her husband, Walt. Jeanne's loving spirit continues to shine through her five cherished grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.

Jeanne was also survived by her siblings, her brother Donald Masse, and her sister Elaine Jarvis. She mourned the loss of her husband Johnnie Eugene Creel who died July 22, 2022, along with her four brothers who preceded her in death also.

In remembering Jeanne, we hold close the warmth of her laughter, the artistry of her hands, and the unwavering kindness that she gifted to all she encountered. Her legacy is one of love, faith, and creativity, casting a light that will endure through the many lives she touched. As she embarks on this new journey, she leaves behind a family rooted in the strength of her values and the beauty of her spirit.
