Jay Dolan Youmans, 72, of Tifton passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. At Eastside Baptist Church of Tifton with Rev. Keith Norris and Rev. Craig Barnette officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, November 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Stacy Aultman, Jerry Hobbs, Darrel McKee, Guy Haynes, Leon Norton and Wayne Pridgen will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Youmans was born September 5, 1946 in Tampa, Florida to the late Jordan Dolan Youmans and Dora Elizabeth Carter Youmans. He was married to Brenda Bridges Coleman Youmans for eighteen years. Mr. Youmans was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Tifton and was a retired contractor. He had lived in Tift County since 1969. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, snow skiing, rafting and traveling. He was a collector especially of cars. He enjoyed bowling with his family. Mr. Youmans coached softball and later played along with his children on coed softball teams. Prior to his contracting work he sold cars for Brown Ford for many years. He loved his Lord and was saved at Antioch Baptist Church in Omega.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Renee Youmans of Irwinville, Patricia Dora Elizabeth “Beth” and Gary Vowell of Chula; one son, Jay Bryant Youmans of Omega; twelve grandchildren, Kassidyn Youmans, Sealan Youmans, Kagan Youmans, Koastal Youmans, Sailor Youmans, Destry Coleman, Finn Youmans, Fletcher Youmans, Larkin Youmans, Noah Youmans, Dallen Coleman, Bryce Coleman, Chip Vowell, Austin Vowell and Ryan Vowell; six great grandchildren.
