Janice Paulk

Dorothy Janice Paulk,76, of Tifton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 25 at 2:00pm in Chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Fred Evers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm before the service.

Mrs. Paulk was born August 10, 1941 to the late Ralph Madison Phillips and Mary Elizabeth Giddens Phillips. She was a 1959 graduate of Irwin County High School and she studied business at the School of Business in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mrs. Paulk was able to enjoy the first few years of her daughter’s lives by being a fulltime homemaker. Her love for the beach and interest in real estate drew her to Fernandina Beach Florida where she became a licensed real estate agent for ERA Realty. Feeling the need to be closer to her aging parents lead her back to her hometown of Ocilla where she became the Guidance office secretary and later the payroll clerk for Ocilla Industries. She currently resided in Tifton where she was a patient representative for ENT of Coffee County, Tifton office. She devoted her life to taking care of her family.

Mrs. Paulk loved the Lord and often shared her faith and strong Christian values with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She read the Bible in its entirety more times than can be counted. She loved reading, painting, sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, the beach and being with her family.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Greg Barber of Valdosta, Karin and Stacy Duckworth of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Kassidi and Nick Conner, Adam Brock, Christina Duckworth, Blake Barber, Anslee Barber, Karli Barber and Brady Barber; four great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Patricia Phillips, Ricky and Pat Phillips.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Sabria Ruth Mikloski.
