Tifton – Mrs. Jane Watlington May, 80, of Tifton, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 with Rev. Benjy Varnell officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Dick Kitchens, Darian Peavy, Eddie Sklany, Ron Evans, Robbie Paulk, Lamar Martin, Dudley Click and Denny Sommers will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Beacon Sunday School Class.
Born June 9, 1937, in Russellville, KY to the late John Russell Watlington and Claudine Peggs Watlington, she was also preceded in death by her husband Oscar Lloyd May II, one sister Patricia Watlington and one brother James Watlington.
Mrs. May was a school teacher in the 1960’s after obtaining a bachelor of arts degree from Centre College in Danville, Ky. In the 1970’s she was a secretary for the Olin Corporation. She was a member of Tifton First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Beacon Sunday School class and was active in Club 55. She loved to eat out, read, and play bridge, and most of all she loved her family.
She is survived by one son and daughter in law Oscar Lloyd May, III and Mary of Tifton.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 107 West 12th St., Tifton, GA. 31794.
