James "J. T." Troy Pitts

Mr. James “J.T.” Troy Pitts, 86, of Tifton passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM in chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Kenny Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Paulk’s Chapel Cemetery in Worth County. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Shane Douglas, Buddy Franklin, B. J. Pitts, Don Conger, D. J. Conger, David Golden, Levi Eunice and T. J. Golden will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Pitts was born May 23, 1933 in Cook County to the late Jake Whitaker Pitts and Allie M. Noland Pitts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Connie Ann Pacella, his sons Willie Jake Pitts and Christopher Eugene Pitts, his granddaughter Sherry Renee Pitts. Mr. Pitts was a member of New Hope Full Gospel Church and was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. He was also retired from Gibbs Patrick Farms.  Mr. Pitts enjoyed drinking coffee at 3 Square Diner in Sylvester, mowing his grass and staying outdoors.

Mr. Pitts is survived by his wife Glenda Wynell Westbrook Pitts of Tifton; four sons, Willie J. Pitts, Jr. of Berlin, Aaron Troy Pitts of Cordele, James M. Pitts of Tifton and Ronnie LaDon Conger of Norman Park; his daughter Maxie Mae Golden of Tifton; seventeen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and three sisters, Betty Harris of Tifton, Opal Hines of Tifton and Jeanette Franklin of Colquitt County.
