Mr. James Melvin Saylor, Sr., 78 of Ashburn passed away on November 7, 2018 at Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Ashburn.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Saylor was born in Worth county on March 26, 1940. He was the son of the late Clarence Saylor and Vernell Summers Saylor. He was married to Gladys Elaine Bass Saylor who died on August 17, 2010. He was a member of Damascus United Methodist Church and had lived in Tift and Turner counties most of his life. He loved to fish and loved his dogs, but most of all he loved his family. He was retired from Tift County Road Department after twenty-three years of service.
Mr. Saylor is survived by his son, James Melvin “Butch” Saylor Jr. of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Sandra Saylor of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Doug Parrott of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews.
