James William Joiner, Jr.

Mr. James William Joiner, Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, and retired Lt. Col. of the United States Air Force, passed away on March 15,2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 23, 1930, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
 
Mr. Joiner led a remarkable life filled with service and dedication. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Florida and honorably serve in the United States Air Force for many years before retiring. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and his contributions left a lasting impact. 

Apart from his distinguished career, Mr. Joiner had a deep passion for UFC football and basketball. He took great joy in supporting his favorite team as an avid "Gator" fan. Additionally, he found solace in gardening, particularly nurturing beautiful roses that bloomed under his care.
 
One of Mr. Joiner's proudest accomplishments was caring for his beloved wife of forty years, Dixie Lee Salter Joiner before her passing. Their bond was strong and enduring, a testament to the love they shared throughout their lives.
 
Mr. Joiner is survived by his daughter Penny Ewing of Tifton, Georgia; his son Randall B. Burwell of New Brockton, Alabama; his brother Richard Joiner of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
 
Along with his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, James W. Joiner, Sr., and Francis Emmitt Joiner; and his daughter Michele Russakis Greer.
 
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of James William Joiner will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Roger Mays officiating with military honors  rendered. Mr. Joiner’s cremains will be interred at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Ft. Pierce, Florida by his wife. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him as a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and country. May he rest in peace.
