Mr. James Irven Baldree, 84, of Chula, passed away on Saturday, September 12 ,2020 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 11:00A.M. in Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Hooks officiating.
Robert Baldree, Ernie Baldree, Bobby Ray Baldree, Monroe Herrin, Mike Hooks, Bob Hooks, Robert Curry and Gene Curry will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Baldree was born February 29, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Jasper James Baldree and Jeannie Giddens Baldree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Stripling Baldree who died in 2016, his son Michael Irven Baldree, his granddaughter, Paige Marie Baxley and his sisters, Mary Spires, Charity McKuhen, Louise Curry and Dorothy Phillips, his brothers, Curtis Baldree, Clayton Baldree, Donald Baldree, Bobby Baldree and James Baldree. Mr. Baldree was retired from Shaw Industries. He grew up in Irwin County and moved to Tift County in 1957 when he married his wife of fifty-nine years. He became the owner of Orr’s TV until 1988, then he began his second career as an electrician with Shaw Industries where he worked until he was seventy-three. Mr. Baldree loved his family. He was a good provider and loved watching his great grandchildren play sports. He was involved in all aspects of their lives. Mr. Baldree enjoyed fishing and working his land with his tractor. He was an avid college and high school football fan. He loved to have his family together at his home.
Mr. Baldree is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Pam Baldree Hanks and Teri Baldree Webb and Jackie Webb all of Chula; five grandchildren, Haley and Josh Davidson, Sean and Breanna Baxley, Amanda and Malcolm Rivera and Karley Webb; three great grandchildren, Logan and Kynlee Slocumb and Bentley Fields.
