James “Kenneth” Fletcher, 83, a beloved figure in the agricultural community and a dedicated family man, passed away on September 22 2024, at Harborview Nursing Home Tifton, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Harding Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Hall officiating.
He was born on January 1, 1941, in Irwin County, Georgia, was a lifelong resident of the area and known for his unwavering commitment to his work and his family.
Kenneth graduated from Irwin County High School and pursued his education at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He established a successful career as a self-employed farmer, a role that not only defined his professional life but also reflected his deep connection to the land and community. Kenneth worked tirelessly, embodying the spirit of dedication and resilience that is often found in those who choose the farming life.
A devoted member of the Harding Methodist Church of Tifton, Kenneth found strength and camaraderie within his faith community. His contributions to both his church and the surrounding community were a source of pride, embodying his belief in service and fellowship.
He is survived by his son, James Timothy Fletcher, who carries on his legacy, cherishing the values he instilled in him.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Anne Cook Fletcher, his father, Paul Fletcher; his mother, Lillian Griffin Fletcher; and one sister, Emilyn Fletcher Gee who have all left a lasting impact on his life.
James Kenneth Fletcher will be remembered fondly for his generosity, hard work, sense of humor and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who carry forward the lessons and love he imparted during his years with them.
