Isidro Popoca, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 28, 2025, at the Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Georgia. He was born on May 15, 1963, in Chapultepec, Guerrero, Mexico, but had lived in Tifton for the past thirty-five years. Throughout his life, he had exemplified values of hard work, faith, and family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church of Tifton with Father Peter Oyenugba officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Albritton Funeral Directors with the family receiving family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. following the Rosary.
Isidro was employed with Destiny Homes of Moultrie, where he dedicated himself to his career with diligence and commitment. His passion extended beyond work; he was an active member of Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church in Tifton, where he cherished being a part of a community that shared his faith. Isidro’s devotion to his church was just one of the many ways he impacted those around him.
A proud outdoorsman, Isidro enjoyed spending his free time in nature, engaging in activities such as deer hunting, turkey hunting, dove hunting, fishing, and hog hunting. He had a profound appreciation for the great outdoors and the simple joys that it brought.
Those who knew Isidro will fondly remember him for his love of coffee and the joyful spirit he brought to his family gatherings. Family was central to his life; he deeply valued the time spent with loved ones, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by those who remain.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Irma Ruiz, and his loving children, Juan Carlos Popoca, Javier Popoca, Leonel Popoca, and Noe Popoca, all of Tifton. Isidro was also a proud grandfather to Sophia Popoca, Jaylen Cade Popoca, Ariana Popoca, and Juliana Popoca. He is further survived by his brothers, Irineo Popoca and Eleno Popoca, and his sisters, Esperanza Popoca and Lina Popoca.
Isidro was preceded in death by his father, J. Asuncion Popoca, and his mother, Isabel Reyes. His absence will be felt profoundly among family and friends, who will remember him for the warmth he brought into their lives.
Isidro Popoca will be remembered as a man of strength, kindness, and unshakeable faith. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, as they carry forward the values, he instilled in all of them.
