Imogene Jordan, a cherished resident of Tifton, Georgia, passed away on December 25, 2024, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia. Born on April 2, 1928, in Tift County, Georgia, Imogene lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
A self-employed business owner, Imogene demonstrated incredible resilience and dedication throughout her career. She was immensely proud of her accomplishments, particularly her deep involvement in her community and her contributions to the Nazarene Church of Tifton, where she served as a treasurer and taught Sunday school for the high school class for many years.
Imogene graduated from Tifton High School, which laid the foundation for her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and community involvement. Her passions were many; she enjoyed baking, gardening flowers and traveling. Imogene was noted for her remarkable ability to entertain family and friends, creating countless memories around the dinner table. In addition to these hobbies, she actively participated in a sewing club and practiced ceramics, showcasing her appreciation for creativity and craftsmanship.
The greatest joys of her life were her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Imogene is survived by her son, Don Jordan, of Chula; her grandchildren, Cindy Tucker, Brian and Mitsu Jordan, Faith and Liam Kenny, and Brad and Megan Jordan; her great-grandchildren, Eason Vora, Gracie Esco, Levi Tucker, Rayna Jordan, Davis Jordan, Alec Kenny, Tristan Kenny, and Lauren Jordan; and her great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Asher, and Rodney. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Nancy Jordan, who was a significant part of her life.
Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Lowry C. Jordan, who passed away on October 31, 1988; her son, Randy Jordan; her father, Isaac Washington Walker; her mother, Maude Lee Herndon Walker; three brothers; and her sister.
A memorial service to honor Imogene's life will take place on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Ike Branch officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends following the service.
