Hill C. Griffin

Hill C. Griffin, 76, of Tifton died Friday, December 23, 2016 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 4pm at Albritton Funeral Directors chapel with Rev. George Parrish and Rev. Jerry Griggs officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until time of the service.

Mr. Griffin was born on May 11, 1940 in Cook County to the late W.H. and Tish Griffin. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School and later served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Division.

Mr. Griffin was a retired railroad conductor and was married to Peggy Mullis Griffin for twenty one years. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family very much.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Griffin is survived by four sons and one daughter-in-law, Galen Griffin of Fitzgerald, David Smith of Tifton, Emmett Smith of Tifton and Steve and Heather Smith of Kelltown; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Betty Jane and Hansel Stripling of Manchester, GA, Lynda Kay and Larry Krumwiede of Montana and Gwen and Dan Roberts of Collierville, TN and several grandchildren including Brittney Smith and Lexie Smith.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his son, Greg Griffin and two brothers Ronnie Griffin and Robert Sowell.
