Harold Eugene Greeson

Mr. Harold Eugene Greeson, 88 of Tifton died Saturday, August, 28, 2021 at Pruitt Health Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Sylvester.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. with the rendering of Military Funeral Honors in Tift Memorial Gardens with Dr. Danny Ray officiating and a eulogy will be given by Sheriff Gene Scarborough. The family will receive friends at Albritton Funeral Directors on Wednesday, evening from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be troopers of the Georgia State Patrol.

Mr. Greeson was born to the late Virgil Travis Greeson and Gladys Lucille Thomas Greeson on August 1, 1933 in Calhoun, Georgia.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Pearson Greeson who died on July 2, 2002 and his son Jerry Greeson who died on June 28, 2021.  Mr. Harold was so proud of Jerry for following him in law enforcement.  He was a license examiner and radio dispatcher with the Georgia State Patrol and then a meat inspector with the Georgia Department of Agriculture.  Jerry helped his sister Sheila care for Mr. Harold’s every need during his declining years.

Mr. Harold loved his country and was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He had lived in Tift County since 1959 when he was transferred to Tifton with the Georgia State Patrol where he retired in 1984.   After his retirement from the Georgia State Patrol he served as an agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.  He was very proud of his law enforcement career.

He loved his family dearly especially his two grandsons.  He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish with his family.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and J. L. Bryant, and his two grandsons, Zach Greeson and Nick Greeson all of Tifton along with many cousins.
