Gloria Ann Wiley Helms, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Daniel and Joyce Hernandez, in Roberta, Georgia. She was 68 years old.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Mr. Daniel Hernandez officiating at Clements Chapel Cemetery in Turner County, Georgia.
Born on January 28, 1957, in Crisp County, Cordele, Georgia, Ann devoted her life to her family and those around her. As a dedicated homemaker and caretaker of her late husband, Anthony Thomas "Tony" Helms, she nurtured a warm and loving environment that welcomed all who crossed her threshold. Her home was a haven, filled with laughter, kindness, and the unmistakable scent of her flourishing garden, where she found joy and peace.
Ann’s passions extended beyond her cherished plants; she delighted in spending time with her family and friends. She created countless memories with her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Chris Lucas, and her grandchildren: Jordan Lucas and his wife Meagan, Cameron Lucas, Chelsea Davis and her husband Justin, She took pride in her great-grandchildren, Kingslee Lucas and Austin Lucas. Each visit was a treasured occasion marked by shared stories and love. She took pride in the blossoming of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to learn about their lives and dreams.
In addition to her immediate family, Ann is survived by brothers Larry Wiley and his wife Linda, Royce Wiley and his wife Belinda, Otis Wiley, and her sisters Jean Nesmith, Joann Baggett, Bernice Lewis and her husband Cecil, Joyce Hernandez and husband, Daniel, Zora Jarvis and her husband, Gene and Laura Sheppard and her husband Victor. Ann's bonds with her siblings were strong and supportive, a testament to the deep connections she fostered throughout her life. Countless nieces and nephews, also held a special place in her heart along with special friends Gary and Lorna Bunting.
Ann is preceded in death by her beloved husband Tony, along with her parents, Blennie Nicholas Wiley and Ruby M. Wiley, and her brothers Nolan Wiley and David Wiley.
As we celebrate the life of Gloria Ann Wiley Helms, let us remember not only her love and kindness but also her ability to bring people together through the simple joys of life. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion, one that will continue to grow in the hearts of everyone she touched. Rest in peace, dear Ann your memory will bloom forever in our hearts.
