Frankie Pate (Dees) Welch

Mrs. Frankie Pate Welch, 92, of Brunswick formerly of Omega passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at GraceMore Nursing and Rehab of Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Jimmy Cargle officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Grandsons, Chris Dixon, Michael Dixon, Timothy Pate,Tim Eden, Stevie Walker and Shane Pridgen will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Welch was born March 15, 1929 in Worth County to the late William Jefferson Dees and Lessie Mae Beaty Dees. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Elbert Pate and her second husband, Alton Oliver Welch; her son, Charlie William “Billy” Pate, her grandson, Jamie Lee Pate, her four sisters, Margaret Lawrence, Grace Marshall, Shirley Eason and Colleen Coburn and her brother, Wallace Dees. Mrs. Welch was a homemaker and formerly attended Omega Baptist Church while she lived in Tift County. She was a true housewife who enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and freezing. Miss Frankie worked for several years with J. P. Stevens. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Welch is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry Wayne and Jane Baker Pate of Omega; her daughter, Joyce Pate Banister of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Chris Dixon, Michael and Christy Dixon, Timothy and Carrie Pate and Kimberly Dixon Eden and Tim; ten great grandchildren; her two brothers, John and Jo Anne Dees of Macon and Robert Dees of Cincinnati, Ohio and her two sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye  and Gene Knowles of Hampton and Peggy and Chip Carson of Americus. Also, she was survived by several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Pkwy, Brunswick, Ga. 31525.
