Floyd Stanley McKellar, Sr., 70, of Tifton, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his daughter’s residence in Gray, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Interment to follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Scooterville, Georgia. No formal visitation will be held.
Pallbearers will be Greg House, Justin Golden, Jason Overstreet, John Chitwood, Zach Dunn, Lee McKellar, Timmy Ray and Hunt McKellar. Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Bennett, Wayne McKellar, Wayne Dunn and Kenny Dunn.
Mr. McKellar was born September 29, 1947 in Colquitt County to the late Alander Lee McKellar and Ethelle Webb McKellar. Mr. McKellar was preceded in death by his son, Stan McKellar who died May 31, 2008; one sister, Mary Lee Kincaid and one brother, Joe McKellar. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Scooterville and had lived in Tift County most of his life. Mr. McKellar was owner of MCK Trucking Company. Prior to MCK he worked with Winn Dixie as meat market manager. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman, who also enjoyed hunting and dancing.
Mr. McKellar is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul “Burt” McKellar and Kelly of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Shane Smith of Gray; six grandchildren, Trey McKellar, Chelle McKellar, McKensey Smith, Marley Smith, Walker McKellar and Lily McKellar; two sisters, Lilly McKellar and Faye McKellar Holweger of Scooterville, along with the mother of his children, Yvonne McKellar.
