Faye Stacey Smith

January 13, 1941 — October 5, 2024

Tifton

Faye Stacey Smith, 83, a cherished Christian lady, whose warmth touched the lives of many, departed this earthly realm on October 5, 2024, at the residence of her beloved daughter, Cyndi Pangle, in Waterloo. She was born on January 13, 1941 in Excel, Alabama to the late Amos Stacey and the late Rebecca Dobbins Stacey. She lived a life steeped in faith, devotion, and unconditional love for her family and community. She and her husband Roger raised their family in Pensacola, Florida, then moved to Tifton in their later years to live closer to their daughter Cyndi, due to their declining health.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Waterloo Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Pangle officiating. The burial will follow in the Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday before the service from 10:00 - 10:45.

Jeffrey Pangle, Thomas Pangle, Matt Spray, Stuart Spray, Brett Milde, Zach Seiler, Micah Kuhn, and Landon Milde will serve as pallbearers.

As a steadfast Christian lady, Faye radiated kindness and joy to those around her. Family gatherings were made all the more special by her presence, as she effortlessly blended laughter and joy into every moment shared.

Faye was a fervent enthusiast of life’s simple pleasures, with a particular passion for exploring yard sales. This delightful hobby became a testament to her eye for treasure and her joyful spirit, often leading her to unexpected finds that could spark joy in those around her. She enjoyed camping with her late husband Roger along with her daughter Renee and her family. In Fort Pickens at Pensacola Beach, Mr. Roger and Mrs. Faye enjoyed fishing and having fish fry suppers with their family. You could always count on Mrs. Faye for bringing a snack on trips and the longer the trip the bigger the snack bag.

In her final moments, she was surrounded by the love of her two daughters, Renee Demastus, Cyndi Pangle and her husband Dr. Jeff Pangle. She also leaves behind her two sons, Roger Lynn Smith and Scott Neal Smith, son-in-law, Jim Demastus, twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and her dear sister, Margie Stokes, a source of strength and companionship throughout their lives. Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Neal Smith, with whom she shared fifty-one years of marriage until his passing on December 29, 2020. The cornerstone of their family, both Faye and Roger cultivated a life of love that endures in the hearts of those they nurtured together.

As we remember Faye Stacey Smith, let us carry forward the lessons of devotion, kindness, and love she imparted throughout her life, honoring her legacy in the lives she touched so profoundly. Remember how she would always try to speak to everyone in the church and shake their hand to spread her love.
