Tifton – Mrs. Evelyn Floyd Ray, 86 of Tifton died Friday, March 26, 2021, at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation in Douglas.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Marty Mullis and Rev. Brian Floyd officiating. The interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Sycamore, Ga. The family will receive friends at 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. before the funeral at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church..
Cole Browning, Lance Cain, Trebor Gaskins, Steve McClelland, Kip McClelland, and Koby McClelland will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Evelyn was born on May 4, 1934, in Atkinson county to the late Thomas and Nancy Harrell Floyd and graduated from the Willacoochee High School in Atkinson county. Mrs. Ray was a faithful and active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She loved gardening, cooking, and growing flowers. As a member of The Eastern Star and Amaranth she volunteered many hours with the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carol D. Ray, her two brothers, Alton and Harold Floyd, and her grandson Mark Jones.
Survivors include her three daughters and son-in-law, Deena Jones of Tifton, Kathy and David Murphy of Loganville, and Etoye Ansley of Cork, Ireland, and her son Johnny Mosley of Tifton, her grandchildren, Mike Bray, Matt and Mariana Jones, Shelby Mosley, and Jennifer Mosley, five great grandchildren, and her two sisters, Peggy McClelland of Douglas, and Margie Cain of Willacoochee.
