Emmett Joel Womack, Sr.

Mr. Emmett Joel Womack, Sr., 76, of Chula passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Tift Memorial Gardens with Mr. Billy Bryan officiating.

Mr. Womack was born December 13, 1945 in Tift County to the late James Bernard Womack, Sr., and Millie Lucille Jones Womack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Emory Womack, Lemmie Womack, J. B. Womack and two sisters, Delores Pearman and Shirley Cash. Mr. Womack was a veteran of the United States Army and of Baptist faith. He was with Tifton Peanut Company for forty years as Plant Manager. He was a hard-working man, outdoorsman who looked forward to doing his yard work. Mr. Womack was a man who loved God and his family who a great role model for all who knew him. Every Sunday his family was together.

Mr. Womack is survived by his wife who he referred to as his lovely bride of fifty-two years, Annette Black Womack of Chula; his four children, Lynn Stovall of Tifton, Judy and Jerry Bennett of Tifton, Jessie and T. J. Norman of Norman Park and Joel and Rebecca Womack of Tifton; his grandchildren, Jayde Lockerman, Peyton Cowart, Rebekah Bennett, Hannah Bennett, Haley Womack, Tate Stovall, Dillan Womack, Madilynn Womack, Luke Norman and Mackenzie Norman; six great grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Marie Womack of Texas.
