Elton was born on March 11, 1949, in Tift
County to the late Thomas Edward Hill and Emma Edith Pitts Hill. He attended Tift County High School and went on to serve in the United States Army Reserves. Elton dedicated many years to Grassing Unlimited, the family turf grass business from which he eventually retired.

A man of faith, Elton was a cherished member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. His warm personality and caring nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In his leisure time, Elton found joy in simple pleasures. He adored his family, especially his grandson Carson. Whether it was watching NASCAR races on Sundays, grilling steaks on Friday nights, or passionately cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturdays, Elton's enthusiasm was infectious. After retirement, he lovingly tackled his "honey do list" for his wife Judy. He took pride in maintaining his home and spent countless hours mowing the grass alongside his faithful companion Bojangles, their Husky dog of twelve years.

Elton was an irreplaceable presence in the lives of many. He was preceded in death by his three brothers - Ed Hill, Eulan Hill, Ervin Hill - and his sister Imogene Hall along with her husband Lambert Hall Jr., his brother-in-law Virgil Proctor, along with Judy's parents Inez Robinson Browning and Jasper Melvin Browning and her brother, William Browning; her sister and brother-in-law Sandra Browning Stone (Tommy Lee.)

Elton is survived by his devoted wife of forty-seven years, Judy Browning Hill; their daughter Molly and son-in-law Trace Akridge; cherished grandson Carson Akridge; sisters Ellen Thompson (Jim) of Katy, Texas, Virginia Proctor of Eldorado; Judy's sister Christy Rowe (Phil) of the West Berrien Community and brother Mel Browning (Donna) of Nashville, GA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Elton Hill will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his unwavering love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear.
