Mrs. Elizabeth Ann McCurdy Jackson, 80, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Tifton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Waterloo Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Pangle and Rev. Glenn Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Casey Joyner, Randy Bryan, Ronnie McCurdy, Phil Perlis, Andy Williams and Stan Folsom will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gayle Cooper, Sybil Oglesby, Kathy Wilson, Gail Fleming, Norma Baker, Imogene Register, Susan Perlis and Amyie Mathis.
Mrs. Jackson was born October 7, 1939 in Tift County to the late William Edward McCurdy and Martha Anna Carr McCurdy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Claude Lee Jackson who died February 1, 2005 and her sister Margaret Sumner who died April 9, 2014. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Waterloo Baptist Church. She graduated from Tifton High School and worked for over twenty years with Tifton Radiology as office specialist where she retired. She loved the Atlanta Braves, her Lord and her family. She enjoyed time with her friends and their weekly outings at different restaurants and she enjoyed visiting friends and family. She worked part-time at Tift Electric Supply Company as a bookkeeper until her recent illness. Mrs. Jackson was very active with Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation and served as a Board Member.
She is survived by her niece Dr. Loraine Sumner of Tifton.
