Edna Cortez "Corky" (Phelps) Manning

Mrs. Edna Cortez “Corky” Phelps Manning, 84, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Corey Thompson and Rev. Luke Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 3:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service. Covid precautions will be observed.

Jason Hutchinson, Jordan Price, Alex Manning, Blaine King, Kreston King, Clay Ray and Daylon Manning will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Manning was born March 22, 1937 in Turner County to the late Mancy Phelps and Inez Walls Phelps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glover Lamar Manning to whom she was married for sixty-six years at his death on August 12, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Arthur Woodruff. Mrs. Manning was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and was retired from Walmart and also worked for Tifton Apparel. She had lived in Turner, Tift and Irwin County all of her life. She loved working in her yards and flower gardening. Miss Corky loved the Atlanta Braves, cross stitching and crossword puzzles. She loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Manning is survived by her children, Ann and Ronnie Dunn of Tifton, Stacy Manning of Chula, Michelle Cooper of Ocilla, William and Lisa Manning of Lenox and Jeff and Veronica Manning of Albany; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby Phelps of Rome, Billy and Geraldine Phelps of Ashburn and Ed and Debbie Phelps of LaGrange.
