DR. Theodore "Ted" Michael Webster

Dr. Theodore Michael “Ted” Webster, 46, of Tifton, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, February 19, 2016, at New Life Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sam Maves officiating.  Private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 19, 2016, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. at New Life Church.

Boy Scout Troop 62 will serve as honorary escort.

Dr. Webster was born September 1, 1969, in Pensacola, Florida, to Michael Clifford Webster and Janet Lillian Pouttu Webster.  In addition to his parents, Dr. Webster is survived by his wife, Lisa Marie Darragh Webster of Tifton; two daughters, Maegan Elisabeth Webster and Mary Ellen Ida Webster of Tifton; two sons, Jonathan Theodore Webster and Benjamin Vail Webster of Tifton; one sister and one brother-in-law, Wendy and Brian Yeary of Mentor, Ohio; and two nephews, Tyler and Logan Yeary and his uncle Ernest Edwin Pouttu.

Dr. Webster, a research agronomist with the USDA Crop Protection and Management Research Unit in Tifton, earned his BS and MS Degrees from Ohio State University and his PhD from North Carolina State University.  He grew up in Mentor, Ohio, and followed closely the Cleveland Indians.  He was a member of New Life Presbyterian Church and Scoutmaster for Troop 62 in Tifton where he had great camaraderie with his scouts and fellow leaders. He was an active member of the Tifton community and was a local Poll Worker.  Dr. Webster considered his father as his best friend.  He was a fan of classic rock and roll; he enjoyed camping, laughing, and making jokes; and he loved his Jeep.  Everything in his life was built around his family.
