Dottie Marie Wilson Howard, 91, a beloved member of the Tifton community, passed away peacefully at her residence. Born in Enterprise, Alabama on July 29, 1932, Dottie was the only child and cherished daughter of Clarence Samuel Wilson and Willie Ethel Brooks Wilson.
The family is holding private funeral services.Dottie's life was marked by her dedication to serving others and her contributions to the workplace were greatly appreciated by all who had the pleasure of working with her.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dottie will be fondly remembered for her passion for dancing and singing, her love for reading and painting as an artist, and her enjoyment of traveling around the country in her camper with her husband Ed. She found solace in listening to the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline, which brought joy to her heart.
She was a graduate of Tifton High School Class of 1948 and attended ABAC, Dottie valued education and continuous learning throughout her life. She and her husband Ed were members of Bethel Baptist Church in Sycamore and the she later attended Journey Church in Tifton, where she found spiritual fulfillment.
In the hearts of those who knew her best, Dottie leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her children, Teresa Butler, Dona and Mike Barrett all of Tifton, Rex M. Johnson Jr. of Gadsden, Al., and Melinda and Sami Batal of Athens; her grandchildren Michael Rooks, Alana Rucker, Amber Gibbs, Tehra Batal, and Tricia Batal along with her six great grandchildren
Dottie Marie Wilson Howard's kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she touched the lives of many with her grace and compassion.
