Louise Roberts, a devoted educator and cherished family member, passed away at her home on Friday, September 6, in Enigma, Georgia. Born on April 20, 1957, in Ocilla, Georgia, she was a beacon of love and faith for her family and community throughout her life.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 4:00 PM, at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Todd Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Her nephews, Jamie Wilson, Johnny Lee Williams, Shane Lamb, Jacob Duckworth, Hank Hayes and Kalob Walker will serve as pallbearers.
Louise dedicated twenty-three years of her career to Irwin County Middle School, where she inspired countless students before retiring in 2018. Her commitment to education was evident in her pursuit of knowledge; she attended Tift County High School, then furthered her studies at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Valdosta State University, earning a bachelor's, master's, and specialist degree in education.
She was a member of Union Grove Church of God and a devout Christian, Louise found joy in reading her Bible and living her life according to her faith. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a loving matriarch, adored especially by her grandchildren. Louise's interests included gardening, traveling, arts and crafts, and shopping, reflecting her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
She is survived by her son, John Roberts, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Roberts. Louise will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Julianne Roberts, Bethanie Roberts Law and her husband J.B. Law, her great-grandson, Little J.B. Law, her sister, Janice Williams, and her numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, along with her cherished fur babies, Joe Rebel and Willow Grace.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Roberts who passed away on December 28, 2014, and her parents, Marvin Garner and Lettie Hurt Garner, as well as her brother, Wendell Clinton "Bubba" Garner, and her sister, Katie Sue Wilson.
Louise Roberts leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will forever be remembered by her family and all who knew her.
Flowers will be accepted or at her request, donations may be made in her memory to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at pulmonaryfibrosis.org
