Dorothy Rae Jackson Savard Strag

Mrs. Dorothy Rae Jackson Savard Strag, 85 of Enigma, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga. Dorothy was born on November 9, 1938, in Pensacola, Florida.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. with Father Peter Oyenugba officiating. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 10:00 – 10:45. The interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. 

G. David Tucker, Gordon Jackson, Albert J. Walker, Ricky Nugent, Mark Davis and James Griffin will serve as pallbearers.

Dorothy led a fulfilling career as a secretary for the United States Department of Agriculture in Tifton Her dedication and hard work were truly commendable, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working with her.

Described as an animal lover with a very witty and feisty yet kind personality, Dorothy brightened the lives of those around her with her beautiful smile and captivating blue eyes. She held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, cherishing her time spent with them.

During her lifetime, Dorothy experienced both joy and sorrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Graham William Tucker and Gordon P. Jackson, her two infant sons, John Alfred Savard III and Robert Savard, as well as her husband Louis Michael Strag Jr.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by her surviving brother, George G. Tucker Jr., of Fair Hope AL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whose lives she touched profoundly.

May Dorothy Rae Jackson Savard Strag rest in eternal peace knowing that she was loved by many and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she left behind.
