Born on June 1, 1943, in Georgiana, Alabama to the late David Campbell and Lena Mae Holmes Campbell. Dorothy was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, known for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and friends.

Dorothy enjoyed a fulfilling career in management for Baptist Health Bell Oaks retirement community, where she touched the lives of many with her compassionate approach. A graduate of Georgiana High School, she furthered her education at Troy University of Alabama, which equipped her with valuable skills that she would carry into her professional life.

Dorothy had a passion for reading, often immersed in the works of Eugenia Price and historical novels. She cherished traveling and exploring the great outdoors, finding joy in nature’s beauty. Her love for the arts was evident through her enthusiastic support of her grandchildren’s activities at dance recitals, musical concerts, and baseball games, where her spirit and energy brought smiles to those around her. She was also an amazing pianist, who loved to play gospel hymns.

Most importantly, Dorothy's proudest accomplishments were her family moments. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rev. Mike Patillo of Tifton; her cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Olivia, and Aaron Patillo; her great-grandchildren, Birdie Patillo and Dottie Mae Patillo; and her brother and sister-in-law, Dalton and Cathy Campbell of Evergreen, Alabama.
