Donald Lee Lutes, Sr.

Mr. Donald Lee Lutes, Sr., 94, of Omega, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Omega City Cemetery with Rev. John Wayne Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Andy Hornbuckle, Shannon Hornbuckle, Bobby Nunnery, Jacob Walker, Lee Baker and Brady Baker will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Lutes was born June 5, 1928 in Desloge, Missouri to the late Lonzo Lutes and Rosie May Hood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Dye Lutes, his daughter, Joan Lutes and his two grandsons, Christopher Nunnery and Anthony Nunnery. Mr. Lutes was retired from Tifton Aluminum and was of Baptist faith. He enjoyed traveling, BBQ’s and talking with other farmers about their crops. He just enjoyed life in general.

Mr. Lutes is survived by his daughters, Judith Nunnery of Omega and Thomasena Wilson of Omega; his son and daughter-in-law, Donald Lutes, Jr., (Wanda) of Omega; his sister, Betty Jean Thrailkill of Louisianna; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
