Diane Thompson

Gloria Diane Thompson, 68, of Sycamore, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at Waterloo Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Pangle, Rev. Landon Alberson and Rev. Tracy Clements officiating. Interment will follow at Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 6-8 P.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thompson’s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Sheran Thompson, Barbara Kendrick, Brenda Hall, Jill Andrews, Ann Kendrick, Kay Slocum , Angie Fletcher Bryan and Frances Eidson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Thompson was born on October 04, 1947 to Christine Moore Richardson and the late Heywood Chesley Richardson in Berrien County.

Mrs. Thompson graduated from Irwin County High School in 1965 as the top ten in her class. She also attended Ben Hill Irwin Tech. As a self employed Insurance agent, Mrs. Thompson was the owner of Thompson Crop Insurance. She was a great cook, wonderful mother and wife.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of Waterloo Baptist Church and centered her life on her church and her church family. She also loved her grandchildren very much, trips to the Gulf coast annually, and vacations to Pigeon Forge with her husband.

In addition to her husband of 51 years, Randy Thompson, Mrs. Thompson is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Michele Thompson of Atlanta and Cynthia Terri’ and Ray Pate of Chula; her two sons, Vince M. and Christian Thompson of Chula and Brice R. and Emilie Thompson of Columbus; her twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Jane Richardson of Chula.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by three brothers, Lamar Richardson, Terry Richardson and Jeffrey Richardson.
