Deborah McGinty Jones

January 11, 1952 — August 19, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah McGinty Jones, who left us on August 19, 2024, at the Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Georgia. Born on January 11, 1952, in Tifton, Georgia. Deborah is remembered for her strong-willed personality and her commitment to her family.

Deborah was a proud graduate of Tift County High School, Class of 1970, and she further pursued her education at Tift College. Her career as the Manager at Kelly Services of Albany was marked by her astute nature and desire to lead effectively. She was highly regarded for her intelligence and remarkable ability to analyze and research various topics, documenting her thoughts and experiences through meticulous journaling.

As the "Boss" of the McGinty family, she was both a guiding force and a source of inspiration to those around her. Deborah was known for her generosity, often extending a helping hand to those she thought were in need. She found joy in simple pleasures and had a great love for makeup, which was a reflection of her vibrant spirit.

Her faith played a significant role in her life. Deborah was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Cairo, where she attended for many years. She cherished her relationship with the Lord Jesus and dedicated time to studying her Bible.

Deborah leaves behind a loving family that will miss her dearly: her children, Kecia Conoly Gray (special friend, Russell Akridge) of Albany and Angie Jones Taylor (David) of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee,; her grandchildren, Stephen Hill (Yuliya), Phillip Brandon Hill (Janet), Aaron Taylor, and Andy and Samantha Taylor; as well as three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Melody and Clay Mauldin and Stephanie McGinty Spinks; her brother, Fredrick William McGinty, Sr.; and her husband's brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Ester Jones, and Myron and Teresa Jones.

Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Gerald Jones, who predeceased her on June 8, 2016, after thirty-two years of marriage; her father, Adger Warren McGinty, Sr.; her mother, Frances Lollie Edwards McGinty; her brother, Adger "Buzzy" McGinty; her sister-in-law, Debbie McGinty and her husband’s brother and sister-in-law, Leola and David Moore.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Stacy Phillips officiating. No public visitation will be held.

Deborah McGinty Jones will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and faith. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
