Debbie Jean (Cox) Knight

Mrs. Debbie Jean Cox Knight, 67, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Keith Norris officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Eastside Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be The Joy Sunday School Class of Eastside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Knight was born February 24, 1952 in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma to the late Jerry Dewayne Cox and Barbara Berry Cox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Vickie Walker and two brothers Ricky Cox and Michael Cox. Mrs. Knight was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for over thirty years and was a Daycare Owner Operator. She had lived in Tifton since 1969 and was a 1970 graduate of Tift County High School. She was very active in her church where she and her husband were assistant directors in the senior department and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. The joy in her life was her family and she considered her Day Care children as her extended family. Debbie enjoyed crocheting and each child in her daycare was given a blanket she made.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her husband Bennie Gary Knight to whom she was married for fifty years; three sons and daughter-in-law Gary Knight, Shannon and Jennifer Knight all of Tifton and Matthew Walker-Warren of Milledgeville, Georgia; one daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and John Cox of Ada, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren Ashtyn Knight, Tyler Knight, Ethan Knight, Dylan Knight, Catherine and James Barnes, Christopher Lewis, Landon Cox, Savanna Griffin, Cameron Walker-Warren, Jennalynn Hamilton and Wyatt Walker-Warren; one brother and sister-in-law Randy and Suzy Cox of Ardmore, Oklahoma.
