David M Warren

David Warren, 86, of Tifton died peacefully Monday, August 29, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Albritton Funeral Directors with the Rev. Chris Ramsey, Rev. Landon Alberson and Rev. Mark Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday at 12:30-1:30 PM before the service in the chapel.

Pallbearers will be Travis Arrington, Chad May, David Fields, Adam Tanner, Brian Hand and Matthew Thacker.

Mr. Warren was born on October 2, 1929 to the late Emmert and Dessie Vandeventer Warren in Frankfort, Indiana. He was the youngest of nine children. All eight of his siblings have preceded him in death. He was married to the love of his life, Virginia, for 60 years, who died on May 3, 2009.

Mr. Warren joined the Navy in 1948 serving as a Yeoman for two years. After an honorable discharge, he began his 43 year career in retail.  This career moved him and his family to numerous states. Upon retirement in 1993, the Warren’s returned to Tifton. They both became very involved their church, Trinity United Methodist Church.  David and Virginia became involved in the soup kitchen, where David served as director for several years.

The focal point of Mr. Warren’s life was his relationship with Jesus Christ, his wife of 60 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is survived by one son, Jeff Warren, of Jacksonville, Fla., four daughters, Debra (Merrell) Drawdy, Brenda May, and Sandy (Travis) Arrington all from Tifton and Peggy (Clarence) Thacker of Lexington, KY., ten grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.
