David James Tawzer, 64, of Tifton died Monday, October 10, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Albritton Funeral Director's chapel with the Rev. Josh Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Carl Tawzer, Shane Tawzer, Stephen Williford, Don Tawzer, Johnny Tawzer and Harmon Tawzer Jr. will serve as pallbearers. Coy Tawzer, Harold Tawzer Sr., Harold Tawzer Jr., Glynn Tawzer, Harmon Tawzer, Sr., Wayne Noland, Jimmy Holloway, Stan Holloway, Stan McKellar, John Willis and Dave Bowers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Tawzer was born on October 15, 1951 in Tift County to the late James W. and Flavel Holloway Tawzer.
Mr. Tawzer grew up and lived in Tifton all of his life. He loved his home, his family and his friends. Mr. Tawzer enjoyed many activities throughout his life such as horseback riding, barrel racing, go-cart racing, cooking and working around the family farm. He treasured his fellowship with his friends at social gatherings. After graduating from Tift County High and attending ABAC, he worked as a farmer and a welder.
Mr. Tawzer is survived by three daughters, Kandy Tawzer, Brandy Hobbs (Tim), and Mary Beth Tawzer, all of Tifton; four grandchildren, Dylan Hobbs, Dalton Hobbs, Kate Marie Hobbs, and Charleigh Tawzer; one brother-in-law, Johnny Echols, one nephew, Jim Echols; and a great niece and nephew, Aile and Anderson Echols, all of Summerville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tawzer was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Tawzer Echols.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
