Mr. David Art Holden, 71, of Tifton passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in Tift Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jerry Riggs officiating. Eulogy will be given by Jeff Dixon. Covid precautions have been requested by the family during the funeral service.
Mr. Holden was born October 2, 1949 in Colquitt County to the late Robert M. Holden and Beatrice Henderson Holden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Spivey Holden, his sisters, Patricia Holden Durley, Lena Holden Gray and Margie Shoemaker. Mr. Holden was a veteran with the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He had lived in Tifton his entire life. David was a helicopter door gunner during the Vietnam War and was very proud of his military services. He loved animals and especially his dogs. He loved trucking and worked for several different trucking companies. David enjoyed cooking especially breakfast for his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards. David loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Holden is survived by his sister, Grace Thompson of Florida; three daughters, Tracy and Kevin Nesmith of Hawkinsville, Gwendolyn and Rusty Garren of Tifton and Robin Burr of Nashville; three sons, Jimmy Dixon of Tifton, Kenny and Honey Dixon of Tallahassee and Jeff and Bethany Dixon of Tifton; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nephews.
