Darrell Lamar Cosper

Mr. Darrell Lamar Cosper, 82, of Tifton passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Ring officiating. A private family interment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at the church before the service.

Mr. Cosper was born August 31, 1938 in Tift County to the late Cyrus Glenn Cosper and Ferol Eva Spinks Cosper. Mr. Cosper was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was retired from Equifax as Insurance Inspector. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a life long resident of Tift County. Mr. Cosper was a man of faith and active in his church where he was a former deacon and church treasurer. He was married to the love of his life, Elaine Thrift Cosper for fifty-four years. They enjoyed traveling together especially to St. Simons Island. Darrell was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman where he enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. He was a graduate of Tifton High School where he played Basketball.

Mr. Cosper is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Gena and Richard Hanson of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Cosper of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Cole Murray, Tyler Cosper, Alex Cosper and Margaret Anne Cosper; one sister, Marcelyn Cosper Swanson, Fleming Island, Fla. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
