Danny "Sammy" Samuel King

Mr. Danny Samuel “Sammy” King, 73, of Tifton, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Pruitt Health & Rehabilitation Center of Ocilla.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Tift Memorial Gardens with Mr. David King officiating.

Shawn McRae, John Davis, Billy Steed, Mike Shaw, Ryan Shaw and Trey Doss will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. King was born October 15, 1949 in Tift County to the late Dan Miller King and Verna Copeland King.  After graduating from Tift County High School, he farmed with his Dad and became a self-employed farmer, then worked for over twenty years for Coastal Plains Construction as an equipment operator. Sammy loved fishing, raising goats and spending time with his two granddaughters, but most of all he loved his “Julie”.

Mr. King is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Julie” Gray King of Tifton; his son, David King of Tifton; his granddaughters, Hannah King of Tifton and her fiancé, Trey Doss of Tifton and Abby King of Tifton; his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Staley King of Chula and his step son Daniel McBrayer of Vienna, VA.
