Mr. Curtis A. Harnage, 86, of Tifton, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Navicent Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.
Due to the national emergency, a private family interment will be held in New Griffin Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County with Dr. Jeff Pangle officiating.
Mr. Harnage was born October 16, 1933 in Lowndes County, Cat Creek Community, to the late Melton Harnage and Lucinda Walker Harnage. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Gray; five brothers, Buck Harnage, Troy Harnage, J.C. Harnage, Laverne Harnage and Pete Harnage. Mr. Harnage was a member of Waterloo Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a song leader. He loved his Lord and his church family. Mr. Harnage loved to sing gospel music and traveled all over the Tift and surrounding counties singing. He enjoyed traveling especially to the mountains. Mr. Curtis loved to fish both locally and at the flats. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Harnage is survived by his wife, Sara Nell Webb Harnage to whom he was married for sixty-two years; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and David Fitzgerald of Tifton; two sons, Keith Harnage of Columbus and Dana Harnage of Tifton; five grandchildren, Timothy and Heather Fitzgerald, Kayla and Duran Paulk, Saralyn Harnage, Becca and Andrew Renaue and Matt Price; seven great grandchildren, Micah Paulk, Kaylan Paulk, Chloe Fitzgerald, Hannah Paulk, Anleigh Dixon, David Renaue and Addy Renaue.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers, Rhonda Johnson, Pat Connell, Diane Singletary and Kelly Shoniker.
