Tifton-Charlie Gordon Gunter, 67, of Tifton, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 12, 2016, in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with the Rev. John Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M.-10:45 A.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Gunter was born October 15, 1948, in Cameron, Texas, to the late Dennis C. Gunter and Irene Jones Gunter. His brother, Hollis Gunter, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Gunter graduated from Tift County High School in the Class of 1969 and then attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Gunter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tifton.
Mr. Gunter is survived by his sister, Cindy Gunter of Tifton; his sister-in-law, Ethel Harrison (Gary) of Katy, Texas; two nieces; and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Quailwood Animal Hospital, 4024 N. Tift Avenue, Tifton, Georgia 31794, for the Betty Vickers Animal Rescue Fund.
