Charles Henry “Chuck” Majeski, Jr. of Ashburn passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, August 27, 2017 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Landon Alberson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Majeski was born in Tift County on September 30, 1957 to the late Charles Henry Majeski, Sr., who died April 13, 2016 and Sara Davis Majeski of Tifton. He was a born-again Christian who lived all of his life in Turner and Tift counties. Chuck was a 1975 graduate of Tift County High School and a graduate of the University of Georgia where he received his Bachelor’s degree in 1979 and his Master’s degree in 1985. He taught agriculture for 32 years, primarily in Turner County, where he loved mentoring his students in raising and competing with show animals. Chuck enjoyed deer, turkey, and dove hunting and collecting Indian artifacts. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Majeski is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Hank and Tanya Majeski of Valdosta and Curt and Lindsay Majeski of Albany; his daughter, Taylor Miller of Ashburn; two granddaughters, Charly and Johanna Majeski ; a grandson, Winston, to be born in October; three sisters, Dottie and John Bassett of Tifton, Sue Majeski of Tifton, Beth and Dennis Daniel of Tifton ; several nieces and nephews; Jan Johnson, his girlfriend, of Tifton; his former wife, Connie Majeski of Ashburn; and the mother of his sons, Jan Majeski of Sylvester. Mr. Majeski was preceded in death by one grandson, Bo Majeski who died in 2016.
