Charles W. Harbin

Charles Wilson Harbin died Sunday, May 01, 2016 at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 06, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors. Entombment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 05, 2016, 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Cliff Hurst, Nic Herron, Joshua Rackley, Joey Andrews, Robert Harbin and Scott Moore will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Harbin was born in Atlanta on October 19, 1927 to the late John Newton and Tina Mae Wynn Harbin.

Mr. Harbin lived most of his life in Tifton and was married to Wilma Jewell Hamilton Harbin for sixty two years. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1946 after serving in World War II.  Mr. Harbin was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Tifton and was a dedicated Gideon. He was the owner of Harbin Plumbing and Heating for over thirty years. He loved camping and trips to Fernandina Beach. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.

Along with his parents, Mr. Harbin was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Smith in 2007 and two brothers.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Harbin is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Ray Rackley of Elko, Ga. and Lisa and Bill Darby of Jacksonville, NC; his grandchildren, Callie Rackley, Melissa and Cliff Hurst, Christina and Nic Herron, Joshua and Magen Rackley and Allie and Joe Andrews; his great grandchild, Michael Rackley and several nieces and nephews.

The family will accept flowers or donations can be made to the Tifton Gideons Camp, P. O. Box 7051 Tifton, Georgia 31793
