Bobby Jehue Helms

Bobby Jehue Helms, 82 of Tifton died Friday, September 16, 2022 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, 10:00 A.M. at Tift Memorial Gardens with military honors rendered.

Mr. Helms was born in Abbeville, Georgia on August 22, 1940 to the late Anderson J. Helms and Doris Daniels Helms.  After graduation from Wilcox County High School, he joined the United States Army and retired after twenty years of service.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Pauline Moorhead Helms who died March 27, 2022 after sixty years of marriage and his daughters, Terrie Lynn Helms and Tammy O’Quinn.

After moving to Tifton in 1983, Mr. Helms went to work for Tifton Aluminum Company where he worked for many years as a security guard.

He is survived by his son Steven D. Helms and his wife Jesusan of Thomasville, his four grandchildren, Michelle Harlan, Angel Kubik, Dustin O’Quinn, and Carly O’Quinn, five great-grandchildren, his sisters Sherry G. Ball of Ocilla, and Linda E. Ball of Fitzgerald, and his brother Micky Helms of Fitzgerald.

The family request no flower arrangements, just bring a single rose to place on the casket.
