Betty Copeland Keith as known as Topsy, 93, died on August 11, 2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Omega Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Mullis and Rev. Chris House officiating. Interment will follow at Omega City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 P.M. at the church before the service.
Shannon Keith, Keith Phillips, Brian Harris, Brent Harris, Brayden Harris, Kevin Ward, Wyatt Phillips and Tyler Keith will serve as pallbearers. The Emmett House family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
She was born on July 16, 1931, in Tift County, Georgia, to the late Carl O. Copeland and Pearl Simmons Copeland.
In her early years, Betty's passion for literature led her to a fulfilling career as a Librarian at Tift County Junior High School. Her dedication to education was highlighted by her graduation from Tifton High School and her time spent at ABAC.
Fondly remembered for her zest for life, Betty and her husband, Charles L. "Junior" Keith, embarked on adventures across the United States, creating lasting memories together while touring forty-eight states. Betty had a wide range of interests including sewing, cooking delicious meals, watching game shows, and faithfully following the twists and turns of the Days of Our Lives soap opera and making sure her yards were pretty. Her favorite people in this world were her grandchildren and her great grands, who affectionally called her MiMi.
A devoted member of Omega Baptist Church, Betty found joy in being actively involved and cherished her time spent working in the church kitchen. Her generosity and love for her family were evident to all who knew her. Betty's proudest accomplishments included her unwavering commitment to her faith and her service to her community.
Betty will be dearly missed by her children: Randy and Donny Keith, Susan and Ernest Harris, Mark and Kasey Keith, and Pam Keith; her grandchildren: Shannon Keith (Jenn), Brian Harris (Tegan), Tina Horgan (Timmy), Mallory Ward (Kevin), Brent Harris (Shauna), and Brittany Ward; her fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; as well as her sister, Glenda Johnson.
She is greeted in heaven by her loving husband, Charles L. "Junior" Keith, her father, Carl O. Copeland, her mother, Pearl Simmons Copeland, three brothers: Curtis Copeland, Bobby Copeland, Lennon Copeland, and six sisters: Jewel Pollock, Clyde Busbin, Reba Reid, Peggy Dunn, Carolyn Barfield, and Patsy Maddox.
