Betty Jean Edmonson

Betty Jean Clyatt Edmonson, 93, a beloved florist arranger and bridal consultant, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Tifton, Georgia at Legacy Village Assisted Living Center.

A graveside service will be held at Oakridge Cemetery on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Tim Morgan officiating.

Betty was born January 26, 1932 in Tift County to the late Lott W. Clyatt and Celestia Cromer Clyatt. Betty led a life marked by creativity, compassion, and dedication to her craft.

Betty was a proud graduate of Tifton High School, class of 1949, where she earned the reputation of being the sweetest girl in her class. Her talent as a floral designer flourished during her years working for My Flower and Gift, as well as with Mildred's for the Horne's, where she skillfully arranged flowers to celebrate countless milestones in the lives of others.

A devoted member of Inaha Baptist Church, Betty found great joy in serving her community and fostering connections with those around her. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, influencing her actions and relationships.

Betty is survived by her loving cousins, Virlin Whiddon Phillips and Linda Ross Vaughn, along with her special friend, Mary B. Wynn. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her gentle spirit and warm heart.

Betty now joins her husband, John C. "Sonny" Edmonson, Jr.; her son, John William "Buddy" Edmonson; her father, Lott W. Clyatt; her mother, Celestia Cromer Clyatt; and her brother, Charles Clyatt, in eternal rest. Her remarkable presence, compassion, and creativity will forever be cherished in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known her.
