Mrs. Betty Braddy Corbett, 84 of Tifton passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at her home.
A graveside service will be held in Tift Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Steve Tucker and Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Her grandsons, Vince Castelberry, Bobby Castleberry, William Manning, Jeff Manning, Andrew Petrella, Jr. and Christopher Petrella will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Betty was born September 22, 1936 to the late Edward Braddy and Thelma Lipsey Braddy Fletcher in Turner County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, William Harry Corbett, who died January 24, 2018, and her grandson, Adam Schrier.
Mrs. Betty lived most of her life in Tift County where she graduated high school in 1954. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church serving as a nursery worker and singing in the church choir. After her thirty-five-year career at Oxford of Tifton where she worked as an inspector, she began working as a hostess for Chick-Fil-A when they opened their store in Tifton and she continued working there for fifteen years. Also, while working for Oxford, she worked at night as the concession manager at the drive-in Marbro movie theater until 1978. Mrs. Betty was a hard worker and an excellent provider.
She loved her family and she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. At her home, she enjoyed working in her yard and reading.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons -in-law Diane and Steve Happel of Tifton and Debbi and Jerome McNeese of Lawrenceville, six grandchildren, Angie and Andy Ward, Vince, Jr. and Jennifer Castleberry, Bobby and Brandi Castleberry, Michelle Cooper, William and Lisa Manning and Jeff Manning, thirty-four great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and her brother Robert Braddy of Turner County.
