Betty Bussey, 72, of Tifton died Friday, June 24, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Eidson, Rev. Jody Jordan, Rev. Mike DeLoach and Lindsey Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Bussey’s nephews and Adam Tanner and Travis Arrington will serve as pallbearers and the staff and children of Miss Betty’s Daycare will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Bussey was born January 20, 1944 in Grady County to the late James Warren “Pete” and Nellie Florene Ulmer Voyles.
Mrs. Bussey was a 1962 graduate of Cairo High School and also a graduate of Norman College in 1964. For nineteen years she was the owner and operator of Betty Bussey Group Daycare Home. She was an active member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton, where she faithfully visited homebound church members. She was also the past Women’s Missionary Union director and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Bussey enjoyed cooking, working in her yards, and meeting the needs of others. Mrs. Bussey was married to Larry Bussey for fifty one wonderful years. She was a very special wife, mother and sister that loved her grandchildren very much.
In addition to her husband Larry Bussey, Mrs. Bussey is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Miriam and Rev. Jody Jordan of Savannah and Joanna and Brian Hand of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Seth and Susan Bussey of Rock Springs, Ga.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Patsy Clark of Cairo, Debbie Sellers of Tifton, and Blondine and Bobby English of Cairo; six grandchildren, Hannah Jordan, Josiah Jordan, Macy Hand, Logan Hand, Luke Bussey and Cecil Bussey.
Flowers will be accepted or donations to Hospice of Tift Area, P.O. Box 747, Tifton, Ga. 31794.
